PT Newbie

Hello everyone! I just bought my first Cruiser yesterday, I love it!!!! It's an 04 Platinum Series 2.4L-T. It has 90,000 miles on it, and I am ready to do a lot of maintenance on it (I don't think the old owners did much to it). I can't stand my self I am sooooo happy!!! It's a beautiful car and handles like a dream. It has a small dent in the passengers side rear behind the tire but who the heck cares the rest of the car is so sweet!
Anyway, hope to get to know some of you. See you on the street!

You do know about the major service that's due pretty soon (100k) don't you. If not, your probably in for a shock.

Yea...unfortunately I do, but, I have the shop space and tools so with the help of the "How To" section of these forums and my trusty Haynes manual, I hope to be able to do it all myself. If not, I have a good mechanic on stand-by. I just hope my wallet is up for it lol.

Welcome to the Forum and congrats on the new PT.

Unfortunately like Crewzin was saying, hopefully they might have gone ahead and already maybe changed the timing belt, water pump, and so forth which is all due at around 100,000 miles, or you got a very good deal as the cost can run up over $1000.00 in all of that stuff pretty easy. I always hate to bring things like that up, but hope it all is already worked out, or already well known and alright in advance rather than being a huge surprise later.

about the pictures tho, you just copy and past. if you want some help i can give you a tutorial with pictures on how to do it from photobucket. I've already helped like two ppl with this tutorial already. just let me know and i'll cue up the pictures for you. Oh, i can also show you how to do the pix as an attachment.

Ok it took a minute as I had to resize all my pix, they were poster size hehe, anyway heres my boy. His name is Brewzer, my name is Mike and we live in Myrtle Beach, SC. Hope to see some of you on the road!








The dent in the rear bumper panel looks fixable and with a little airbrush magic I don't think it will show.





there is a cigarette burn hole in the driver seat left by the previous owner.




I only paid 5k for the car with 89000 miles. I think it was a good deal. The seat can be repaired by a good upholstery shop and I will be doing all the mechanical on him myself. Other than that I think he's a beaut!
