Default Hello everyone

Well, I just bought my first PT Cruiser 10 days ago, after seeing them on the road for the past 10+ years, and have been coming to this forum for some outstanding troubleshooting techiques and thought I had better join in all the fun.

Mine is a 2001 limited edition that just turned 100k. So far, even with the small problems I have had in the past 10 days, I love it.

1st problem was the radiator cooling fan is not working.... figures this would happen when we are in the middle of a heat wave eh?

The extremely well put together set of posts about this issue, and the effects it has such as bogging down at idle when in traffic, blowing hot air, engine temperature rising and no cooling fan coming on, is what made me join.

It is now on order and should be here Friday! $95 shipping included from go-parts dot com if anyone else is interested. Best deal I could find anywhere and worth the wait for me.

I have always admired the looks of the PT, and have not had the opportunity to drive one until I decided to buy one. I was not dissapointed by the ride or handling in any way. The interior is a joy to be in, and every time I do drive it I have to chuckle a little to myself because around these parts, all you see driving them are gray haired older people, and I am one of them now!

My past vehicles have included (these are just the high points) 1965 Mustang 2+2, 1969 AMX, 1970 Challenger R/T, 89 Chrysler LeBaron turbo gt 5spd, 1991 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4, 1992 Dodge Stealth R/T, and now my PT!

This I hope will be among the fondest cars I have owned to date (over 150 cars since I was 13 years old and my grandmother gave me a 1935 Chevy to "get running".

I have been a long time admirer (don't laugh) of the Pontiac Fiero and have owned several of them. I had been active in the forums for thes cars, but have lost interest in them as my age has made it harder to enjoy them.

Thanks for all of the help so far, and if I can come up with some fixes of my own, I will be more than happy to share.

Dave (aka railshot)
PS...... what's up with the chrome on these rims? LOL. Look good from 20 feet but man, get up close and they are like cheese shredders in the wind.

Cool Re: Hello everyone

Welcome from OkieLand.

Plenty of complaints about the chrome wheels .
See the past threads on the issue.

I would say that well over 50% of those who post on this forum have aftermarket wheels.
