So I'd reset the computer disconnected the black cable put my foot on the brake and check engine light still comes back live about four miles five miles pops back up give me a code P1684 and P1684 do I just replace the PCM. The car runs fine everything works

P1684 does not indicate a problem; it's only a status, which indicates that the PCM memory has been cleared within the last 50 ignition cycles. What makes you think you need to replace the computer? You also said that the fault light comes back on with P1684 and P1684. Did you mean to type in another code that's popping up. You mentioned the same one twice.

You need to reset the engine trouble codes with a OBDII Scan Tool. Disconnecting the battery does not reset the codes.
