Default New Member and Glad to Be Here!

Hello Friends!

This forum is the best thing going for PT Cruiser Owners and aficionados. I can't say how many times my solution has been found on these pages.

My son and daughter each have their own GT and although they have their share of issues, these cars are a joy to drive and look at. This makes them worth keeping and fixing. And this forum makes it possible.

My son has 2003 GT, Satin Black trimmed in chrome, auto stick, with a few mods that were installed before he bought it. We've replaced complete front suspension, wheel spindles, power steering system, and added CAI and MOPAR blow off valve. It's got about 162K miles on it.

My daughter has a 2005 Dream Cruiser 4 that we rescued from some "butchers" that really neglected the mechanical systems of the car. The car is a beautiful convertible with perfect interior and just a few dings and minor cosmetic blemishes that we're gonna get fixed in time. We've replaced the turbo and are getting ready to R&R suspension. She absolutely loves the car and so does everyone that sees it. I tell her that if you love a car, it's worth fixing and keeping. This one is special because there's only 1500 of them made.

Thanks again for all you help and so glad to be here.

Thanks ptcruisersteve!

By the way, I'm new to all the forum etiquette and was wondering where I'd ask a question about what looks like a 120V extension cord in the engine bay of my sons '03 GT.

I've googled power inverter for PT Cruisers but nothing comes up.

It might be and engine block heater, but I don't know. I haven't followed it to the end yet.

You can go to this website and get the Build Sheet for your PT's, it will list everything on it as built at the factory:

https://www.dodge.com/webselfservice/dodge/index.html

On the left hand side under YOUR VEHICLE click on Equipment Listing, then enter the VIN in the white box in the center of the page then click the red Search button.

Also for any of your PT's that have over 100k miles, on this website you can join the Chrysler High Miler club and get a very nice metal license plate frame free:

Can you post a picture of it? Some of these cars seem to attract owners that modify them in strange ways. My car was previously owned my some computer nerd. when i got it there were metal rods pointing at my knees from some sort of keyboard tray. i found a 110v powerstrip under the passenger seat with the plug under the drivers seat. there was an extension cord running somewhere to the back. there are LEDs marked inverter. aftermarket cruise control was kinda there.. i cut out and removed as much of it as i could.

You wrote the friendliest intro I've read to date. Welcome!
