Default Newbie in Texas - 03 GT.

Hi, new here. Just won the auction for an 03 PT GT Automatic on Copart. Salvage, but repairable and I got it cheap. It will be a project/backup car for me.

I currently daily drive a 15 Fiat 500 Abarth which is pretty well known in that community as the MAD FIAT. Realized I shouldn't make my daily my project without at least having a backup vehicle... In my worst nightmare I toast my clutch and end up with no way to work. So I did what any reasonable person would do and bid on a Cruiser with water damage, mold and 25000 original miles. Wish me luck!

Photos of the GT once I pick it up in a few days.

Thanks guys for the welcome.

Now that I'm home, I'll write a bit more.

I debated quite a bit on the GT, especially the fact it's an automatic. People seem to be holding onto the 5-speeds. I've heard good and bad about both the auto and the manual.

I get my 5-speed fix from my Abarth so I decided I'd risk the auto.... I won the auction on the GT for $525 so after taxes and fees and all I'm in for less than $1k for a runner/driver. Not certain on the condition as for that price I was willing to take the chance. Worst case scenario it's a 25000 mile long block to donate itself to a different project. But I'm hopeful.

My Abarth, I didn't mention above, is pretty heavily modded. Here is the Wheelwell page for my Abarth:

And a picture of the Abarth attached (couldn't figure out how to do it inline)...

Again, photos of the GT once I actually pick it up hopefully in a few days.
