New,sort of, to PT Cruiser

Presently I don't need any advice but that probably will change. I have a long history with this Cruiser prior to me buying it. It was my brothers girls car, since new, and I was my brothers mentor when anything major was repaired. Clutches, ball joints, bearings etc and finally water pump/timing belt. Well the water pump didn't last very long. At least that's what my brother thought. I told him it might be the inlet tube but he was convinced it was the water pump and didn't want to go through that ordeal again. Not worth repairing with so many miles. So the car sat for two years. Finally he asked me if salvage yards make house calls so I bought it and replaced the inlet tube. There are some trivial faults to iron out but all in all a good car.

I offered to fix it many times but he said no. Knowing this could get messy, I transferred the title before turning a wrench. Won't take all the risk just to have it taken away if things go well. Hope he feels the same, we'll see.

I wish one of my brothers was like that. One of them sold me his beat up 71 Dart when I was in college for $100. He was convinced that it had burned valves in it because it hardly ran. Slant six. I spent $32 for a new carburetor and drove it for several years. His wife kept saying she wanted it back but wasn't willing to give me the $500 that I eventually sold it for.
