Default Visit to US

(reposted to this area of forum as suggested by soonercruiser)

Hi Guys

My wife and I are visiting the US for a holiday driving down PCH from San Fransisco to LA then out to Williams to see the Grand Canyon and finally to LV for a couple of days.

We have PT each and interested to see if there are any meets arranged for Sept 15th thru 23rd September between SF and LA. Also are there any car parts places worth a visit (not that I can carry any parts back on the plane).

Tony

It is a late response but might be still in time.
PT Cruisers are flooding the junk yards now. Just google "Pick-A-Part" or "U-Pull Parts", "Pull & Save" around big cities in S. California and Las Vegas.

I hope you have a great time while you are here!

The big cities in California are wonderful but they are not very representative of most of the US. If going to the Grand Canyon, check out Flag Staff, Arizona. It's a wonderful smaller city. Also, go to the north rim of the Grand Canyon if you can. It's much nicer than the southern rim where most international tourist go. I would avoid the west rim. There's a huge glass walkway but it's very expensive and way too commercial for my liking. But the drive around the east side of the Grand Canyon takes you through Navajo Native American country. It's beautiful and the Navajo are wonderful and friendly people. Be sure and visit the Painted Desert and Meteor Crater too if you get a chance. They are near Flag Staff. My wife and I made this same trip this summer. So it's still fresh in my mind.

For car shows, you might contact NitroPT by PM. He's deep into the car scene in California and can likely tell you some great places to visit. As far as PT Cruiser events, they've become quite rare. As already mentioned, the PT Cruiser has fallen out of style here and is only valued in a few of the remaining clubs and with enthusiast online such as here. But NitroPT can likely give you some great recommendations. And I'm sure he can tell you where to find some unique car accessories that you might carry home in your luggage.

Might as well resurrect some old threads, no new members can join and the forum may go completely dark in 01/19 when its registration expires:

When the registration expires, maybe we'll see this, like when tv stations used to play the National Anthem and then sign off for the day

If political correctness were the culture of the land, I would not be free to say that I find it interesting that the forum could die almost two years from the date that the USA died earlier.
But that would be wrong, because we are winning, bigley.*

So here is some diversionary reading for those who wish to relive the days of yore.
Long thread- 32 pages of wisdom (and otherwise) by those who sought (or fought) bringing the USA to this glorious moment of national success, embellished by evangelical situational ethics, organizations of ethics without morality, fiscally-conservative deficit spenders

A blast from the past- 2016
SUGGESTION: No Holds Barred Political Thread!

*unless you are black, brown, Mexican, Muslim, female, young, poor, immigrant (Dear Lord, why did you make me a poor black Muslim-Mexican woman asylum seeker with kids?)
