Can you post the results of your failed smog emissions?

Might be wrong but I thought Cali smog tests were about the same as Euro 4..?

Even my diesel is Euro 4 - you must have something seriously up the creek if you can't get a petrol PT through that.

For the most part the biggest thing is the Stage one turns off the post or #2 HO2 sensor. That is the one after the CAT downstream. The monitors will show in readiness, HOWEVER a well trained and experience Emissions tester will know that is incorrect for a California VIN car and can fail you even if everything else appears to have passed. I could be a fine to him and the shop if it slipped by and was caught by the CARB. (California Air Resources Board) The visual aspect is part of the test.
If you do fail you could be sent to an ONLY California Emission Testing Center and YOU WILL NOT PASS with w Stage 1 as they do a complete test and inspection unlike independent smog shops.
podo2000 and Sinbad like this.

I have read some threads where the members keep the original PCM and put it back in the Pt Cruiser when they go to smog it. I am wondering if they need to change the mileage on the original PCM to keep up with the current miles the Pt
Cruiser is being driven.
