Default Rear wheel shims

I was going to get alingment today on my moms PT and they told her she needs rear shims. They cost $20 and labor was going to be $60 and take all day.

Does that seem high to you guys and are the really that hard to isntall?

btw. she has 18" rims too.

Thanks
Steven

Price sounds about right to me. I think that the rear brakes and hubs have to be removed.

they are multi-angular contact shims and they cost the shop around 12 bux to buy them and they take a long time to go in because they sit behind the hub. Depending on labor it seems like a good deal because at my shop we used to charge 30 a shim plus labor

they arent vehicle specific. they are pieces of plastic that you rotate to get a spefic thickness to set the hub at the correct angle so the tire is in alignment spec. Only other thought i have is to try a different garage, maybe a small independent with an older alignment rack that could give u a deal on the job.
