In part, it's those 17-inch wheels [B)] --they look cool, corner well, but make for a wider turning radius. [8]

might want to just stand back and look at the location of the wheels in relation to the corners of the vehicle...

THIS MAY OR MAY NOT BE WHY THE TURNING RADIUS IS SO BAD BUT I HEARD THAT THEY HAD TO STREACH THE FRONT END ON THE TURBO MODEL TO FIT THE INTERCOOLER ON THE FRONT...SO IT MAY ALSO BE BECAUSE IT MAY BE LONGER TO SOME EXTENT THAT ON THAT IS N/A....
No.
It is the fact is comes with wider wheels and tires, that's all. The only thing you can do is put on 5mm wheel spacers which help. I run all 4 corners with them for a wider track and better handling, but a smaller turning radius was side benifit from it.

There was also a comment about them being 7". Only the GT convertible and the dream cruiser GT with the "star" rims are 7" wide. The regualr 4door GT gets 6"/6.25" wide rims. Although the 06 may be different, but I don't think so.
