Okay, before everyone tells me NOT to do this, I already no that it is one of the worst things you can do to the cars suspension. So my question is, what about mod/cutting after market springs. I've heard it was okay to this ONLY on after market springs because they are made of thicker and more durable material. I've even seen this done on TV with a set of Eibach springs for some import /tuner cars. Has anyone ever cut their aftermarket springs for their PT before? The reason I'm wanting to do this is because the rear springs that I have (Ground Force) are 2" in the back and 1.75" in the front. So like many lowering/performance springs the front of the car still looks lower than the rear. I would like the rear 0.25 inches lower so that it matches the wheel/fender gap that the front also has. This way it would be an even look, lowered all the way around. Any suggestions?

Eric,
Two words for you: AIR RIDE..... Mine is in the shop as we speak. I wouldn't attempt to cut any springs, even if they are after market. You are just asking for trouble. BigPhil

I think I may have found an answer. I found some Goldline springs that are a whopping 2.75 in the front and 3.25 in the rear! Only thing is they are on back order. Sounds like it would look cool.

Guys on my Marauder site have cut their springs on their cars and have good results. Some have even had aftermarket springs and found that the cut OEM springs worked better than the Eibachs they had. I will putting lowering springs on my PT this spring. I can't wait.

Eric,
You can adjust the air ride to the height that you want. I just got back from the shop and it looks awesome! The rear 20's tuck to about 1/2 an inch from the fender. The front doesn't go down as low becasue I have a wide tire, but that will be solved with a skinnier tire which will aloow me to tuck to the rim. But when you extend it all the way up, it goes up about 8-10 inches...... BigPhil
