I ordered the smoothe hubcaps from hubcap mike. Because my parents decided 1000 was just way to much to fork our for the real thing, but hey these look just as good.

Any way what i wanted to ask is, how you get the hubcaps off that are on now? are you forced to jack it up an undo the bolts?

Just unscrew the "bolts" on the wheel covers....

The right answer is, YES. the lug nuts hold the wheel covers on.

But no need for jacking...

Hi guys......I'm new to this forum and a proud owner of my first PT. I just got a 2006 in November and I bought the smoothie hubcaps from hubcapmikes. My info on the car says my wheels are 15 inch and of course I went ahead and bought the new 15" smoothie hubcaps before measuring the factory ones already on the car. I need a little advice on the installation since these smoothies look a little smaller than what is already on the car. Did you run into the same problem or am I an idiot? I would appreciate a reply.

Maria,

I'm not into the smoothie look, but if I remember correctly, don't the smoothies (Baby Moons we used to call them) only cover the center of the wheel and you still need to buy the outer ring (Trim Rings)to complete the look? There was such a thing as "Full Moons" that covered the entire wheel and maybe that's what you need for a complete cover. I may be wrong about the whole thing...and I may just delete this whole post but I put so much effort into it that I can't stop now.

Oh yea, WELCOME to the forum. []

From what I understand, most aftermarket hubcaps will not fit the stock PT Cruiser wheels. The only ones that I've heard people have success with are the ones sold by Mooneyes.
