Default rim exchange

Hi, I'm new to the group, I have an 03 GT Cruiser with 17 inch tires and would like to replace them with standard rims and tires for the winter. Can anyone tell me what rims ( from other makes ) will bolt on and what size 15's or 16's. I'm hoping to buy some at a scrap yard.

Thanks..

The PT bolt pattern is 5 x 100 and the wheel off set is 38mm (I think). So I'm guessing any wheel in this size range should work.

NO!
Depends on the wheel. The GT has fatter calipers to grab fatter brake disks, and the back of some alloy wheel "spokes" can hit the caliper.
The stock PT 15" steel wheels do fit, and they can be picked up very cheaply.
Even used 17" chrome wheels can be had cheaply - I picked up 17" chrome wheels with so-so tires for $100 each - post in the classifieds... I got mine from a forum member.
