This forum is evil! :(
I swear it's you guys and it's NOT MY FAULT!
I just (:sniff), only came here to find out how to remove the rear seats in my '05 'vert.
And I just ordered an entirely new suspension.
I...
Just...
Couln't...
Resist!!!!
The handling on the PT Cruiser, even the GT is just so poor compared to my other vehicles (AMG SLK55 & M45 Sport) that I just couldn't take it anymore. I'm putting over 25k miles per year on the cruiser as it's a work vehicle, and while I love it for the most part the handling is just unacceptable.
I know it's a work vehicle and I shouldn't throw money into it for performance goodies, but I just couldn't resist after reading about all the wonderful suspension upgrades here.
So I did a bit of homework, then went over to Shox.com and ordered the Eibach front/rear sway bar kit, the rear sway bar installation kit, and then I was a good boy and didn't order the Stage 2 coilover kit. Instead I went for the Eibach pro-kit springs and a set of Tokico shocks.
For $956 with shipping and tax that's probably the cheapest suspension upgrade I've ever bought. I hope installation won't be too much, but I know it will be worth it.
I'll probably upgrade my other technician's vehicles too, the safety alone from the improved handling should be worth the price of admission.
But I'm also restricted to buying 2005 and older PT Cruisers now? I'm reading that the 2006+ ones can't be upgraded as easily?
.... (comes back 2 minutes later)...
Dammit! I just checked outside and the UPS guy hasn't delivered the stuff yet!!! I knew I should have paid for express shipping! (Then again I only ordered the stuff 5 minutes ago)...
.... (goes off to check again)...
