New Wheels & Tires

I finally got around to taking some photos of the new wheels and tires that I put on my '05 Convertible. There is some new photos in my Gallery.

I ended up going with 16x7 American Eagle Chrome 5 spoke wheels with 225/50/R16 Toyo Proxes 4 High Performance Tires. I was amazed at the ride improvement over the stock rims and tires.

If you feel like it leave me a note as to what you think....good or bad

LOOKS GREAT!! Amazing how different they look on the PT vs the classic Muscle Cars. Both versions look good to me

No I still have them here, do you want them? Unfortunately you live a long way from me

The dealer that I bought them from will store them for me for free....well just have to pay $24 for a changeover fee. Not sure what I will do with them, they only have 2800 miles on the wheels and tires. I bought the car new on the last weekend of May this year, so I haven't put too many miles on it.

I just bought a set of factory 17's off the bay, I saw a set of wheels/tires just like yours (your factory set) on there when I was looking around, just thought they might have been yours.

REALLY love the PT convertible with those wheels though! Maybe a set of lowering springs next? Me personally, I like the ones that keep the same "stance" but lowers it about a 1 1/2" all around.

Nope, not me...I thought about putting them on eBay but decided against it. I will probably keep them.

I've had several people mention the lowering thing and as much as I would like to, I don't thinks it's wise. Unfortunately the roads around here aren't condusive to lowering it. I drive this car almost daily, splitting time between it and my 2000 Grand Caravan Sport.

that looks good man i'm about to replace the tires (maybe wheels too if i find a combo for a good enough deal) i know you said you could tell a difference in handleing and ride, what about road noise and mileage (both fuel mileage and how the wear) my wife drives about 30k a year in her car, we dont want to have to replace tires every 6 mo!

Thanks....I didn't notice any difference in road noise and gas mileage seems to be the same. As far as wear is concerned there is only 1600 kms. (1000 miles) on the tires so it's far to early to tell.

a perfect look..... those are the eagle alloy series 192 polished I presume? I am sold, I was looking at those, now I am no longer looking, I am buying.
