Default Looking for a little insight/opinion on lowering..

I am just looking to do this because this car is my Daily driver and I am sick of looking at how much wheel gap there is. I do realize the side effects of lower a vehicle improperly as i have been there before and have been through 3 different suspension setups on my other car. Currently it has the Tein Superstreet Coil overs with EDFC and is un believable how it handles. I'm not looking to spend another $1,400 on one of those, however in the past i did have a set of Eibach Prokit springs on it and it rode very well ( it just wasn't low enough for me @ -1.4" around).

I have been eying;

Springs
Tein S.Spec 1.3F and 2" rear.
Eibach Prokit 1.6F and 2" rear

Struts
Tokico HP series
KYB GR-2's.

I don't want to spend more than $400 on all of this because its a daily driver/ winter ratt for me and i am using almost hitting the 50K mark as an excuse to myself to need to replace the struts in it. Any of those combinations are within that range. But i am looking for a nice stiff/ hard ride close to what i had with my old Prokit and KYB AGX combo ( The struts were adjustable dampening and i had them 3/4 to hard) Can any Cruiser vets steer me in a good direction? Thanks in advance!

I was also looking at the Tein for my brand new PT. I wanted a slight lowering ..... but I want a semi-soft ride .... as close to stock as possible. I just traded in my pocket rocket for this just to be more comfortable. Has anyone tried the Tein?

I had Eibach Pro Kit and Tokico shocks/struts combo on my '01 PT, '03 PT GT and now my '05 SRT-4. Love that combo.

From the snow in your picture, you may be living in a state with less than perfect roads. So, (especially if you have any aftermarket body trim kits) the lowering can increase the change of scraping bottom.
Here in Oklahoma, even with no lowering, I was occassionally scraping the front end of my PTeazer bumperette.
**Just so you think about it.

I agree with Sooner, I would like to lower my car a bit but it would be foolish especially since I put the Mopar Ground Effects Kit on my car, don't want to scrape it off...this is also the reason I went with 50 series tires and 16x 7 wheels as opposed to maybe 17" wheels and 45 or 40 series tires.

On both my '02 and '05 PTs, I lowered the rear only.
Reasons:
- Front is already low enough - as noted above
- wheel gap is bigger in the rear
- I don't care for the "butt in the air" look
- rear are simple - no spring compressor or alignment worries.

Just something to consider....

QSD, do you have a source for rear only springs or do you use some from a specific kit? im looking into leveling out my 06.

We bought rear only from the "buy/sell" section in the forum here for $50. Put an ad in?

There was one place that sold rear only, but they were more than where I got a full set from.
Shox.Com I think is where I got mine - still have the fronts....
