Just found out on my 2005 PT convertible. 24,000 miles. Both sides need replacement. Got an estimate for $700 (includes alignment). If we werent going on a long road trip soon, I'd hold off as they arent making any noise or any steering issues.

![]() Even if wheel bearings on the PT tend to wear quickly, 24k miles is a really low mileage to replace them. And 700$ to perform this is a ripoff IMO. |

Well, the mechanic said that the wheels are "loose" and wiggle due to bad bearings when it is up on the rack. I'm getting another opinion as they might be trying to squeeze some extra $$ out of me. I was kind of shocked at how many folks have complained about wheel bearing issues on PT's. Could be a tie rod end perhaps??

2005 GT Convertible. 24,000 miles. Bad wheel bearings. Confirmed by dealer and independent garage. $750 including 4 wheel alignment quoted by both. Dealer unwilling to work with me. Out of warranty... recourse?? No wonder they are bankrupt! With this kind of product quality, it's no wonder they didnt go under sooner than they did! I'm done with American auto manufacturers now...

![]() Oh..BTW, I'm going to have to have my lower control arm bushing done, too...I think. Lots of subpar suspension parts on our cars probably why Chrysler deliberately excluded them from the warranty/extended warranty. Weasels. |

![]() Don't be mad at the car be mad at the rip off dealers, they are really turning the screws on customers cause they can right now.. They are the dealers that got lucky and are left, they look at it like shooting fish in a barrel. No other dealers to compete with. Find a local and save some money.. Truth be told once you get some good quality replacements on it you will be good for a long time.. OEM sets tend to go quick or never it seems.. Just some FYI..
