Carlisle Unique Smoothies

Newbie here with wheel questions.
I am on my second set of smoothies from Unique. The first set of wheels and caps rusted within 2 months. Carlisle Tire was more than helpful in replacing the wheels and caps. The new ones were cleaned and waxed as per their customer service recommendations of plain Turtle Wax. They rusted within 2 weeks. Has anybody else had problems like this? I am ready to scrap these and go with Wheel Vintique powder coated Smoothies. Chrome and Ohio winters are a bad combination. Have there been problems with Smoothies from this maker?

sound like the '2 week' chrome most aftermarket companies put on replacement parts. there is nothing you can do short of using clearcoat that goes over chrome to make them last longer, but the clear makes the chrome look like clearcoated polished aluminum. you could send it all out and have it professionally rechromed, which would make them really nice, but PRICEY. wheel vintiques on the other hand, I have heard nothing but good things about.

I have had a couple of sets of wheels from wheel vintiques and was very pleased with there quality
