I have a 03 Dream cruiser and the rims are pealing and bent from all the wonderful roads here in the east. I am going to buy new rims however after researching dozens of sites I am confused. First the OEM rims are 17 x 6 with a 5/100 bolt pattern. Not sure of the offset. I want to use the tires I have now 205/17s. All the rims I find are 17 x 7 or 17 x 7.5. My question is has anybody used these size rims with the 205/17 tires and had any problems? Any help is appreciated

A 205 width is fine on a 7" wide rim. It'll be damned near impossible to find an aftermarket 17" rim at 6" wide. Anywhere in 35-40mm offset is usually safe. 35 is safer than 40 since it'll stay a little more away from the strut.
