I just found this site that sells replacement rotors for PT Cruisers. It is www.discbrakesaustralia.com The prices seem reasonable. Check it out.

I talked with the DBA factory this spring about their rotors. The ones that are offered are GOLD painted, slotted & drilled. There are USA distributor(s) for the brand but demand is low.
Another option is EBC (European Brake Company). They offer a black oxide-coated rotor that is slotted and "dimpled". It is not drilled, but looks like it is. Rotors and pads are available for 4-wheel-disc PTs!! I talked with a USA ECB distributor about doing a "Group Buy" to get a nice discount. Is anybody interested in this? I'm not solid on pricing yet, but demand starts here. IMHO, it would be [ ] to replace junque brakes w/ junque brakes. The aftermarket is here to make us ![]()

I just replaced the rotors and pads on my '02 PT. I needed tires and having read that most PT's needed new pads at arround 20to22K, decided to have it all done at the same time.
After much research I chose EBC Rotors and the EBC Greenstuff Pads. Got them from Tire Rack. The Rotors are grooved and dimpled (not drilled all the way through)and I think a bargain at $150pr, the pads were a bit pricey at $89set but if they give reasonable life I will go with them again. They give much better braking, no fade noticable with my driving style (hard and fast)and it has been a full month now and NO NASTY BLACK DUST COATING MY WHEELS. Before the swap I couldn't get past 3 days without cleaning my wheels. Only down side is a bit of the "jet plane sound" that they warn about in their instructions. I think part of this can be attrubuted to the Goodyear Aquatred III tires. I don't mind the noise.... just a bit more character to accompany the intake and exhaust notes. If I wanted a tomb quiet ride I would be driving a Caddie Northstar. I strongly recommend the EBC products. |
