What is the Widest/Tallest tire on Stock 17"
Hey gang, new here and want to upgrade the look of my wifes PT. It's and 03 red gt with the 17X6 rims. What is the tallest, widest tire I can run?
I have been told 225/50/17 will fit. Is anyone running this size tire? thks

I'm not really sure, but I'm running a tire...a little taller and larger than stock: 215/50/17. One of the guys will let you know shortly...

I have a N/A 2003 (with 195/65/15's) and I just upgraded the rolling stock.
 Now I'm running 225/50/16 Kuhmo Ecsta AST on SE A7 rims. They fit very well, & don't rub at full turns (lock to lock). This size also does not need any speedo adjustment, just as accurate as the factory set up. They look excellent too! I'm guessing a 17" tire would just reduce the aspect ratio and you could go with say 235/45/17 - but I'd call the experts at the Tire Rack (Tire Rack - Your performance experts for tires and wheels) to make sure there won't be a problem. That's where I bought my new wheels/tires from and they know their stuff over there. Let me know what you find out... Tom

Mine had 17" stock rims, and I went w/245/40-17's. The originals were Goodyear Eagle 205/50'17's. 215/45-17's will also fit, but the 40 Series are wider. This will involve NO speedo correction.

I put 235 45 17 on stock 6 inch dream cruiser 4 series wheels no problems. But finding someone to take the time to do it is a problem because it was a b**ch to do!!!!
