Default winter tires on the hiway

At present i drive 150 km round trip on the hiway every day for work. This fall i want winter tires instead of running my all seasons. My question is what makes of winter tires do people like driving on? I had a set of Nokias priced out at $232 per tire. peace of mind does have a price. Keep in mind im in Alberta canada and it snows a lot up here. Thanks in advance.

I did a search and Yea, Nokia does make tires but some sites are calling them Nokian.

Two snow tires from Nokia that are recommended and are highly praised are the "Hakkapeliita 1" and "Hakapolita".

I've never heard of them and can't even pronounce the name of the tires so your on your own.
