Sometimes when I turn my wheel I am hearing a creaking noise from the front end. Any ideas on what that could be? Would upgrading to 17" wheels and tires have anything to do with it. Any help would be appreciated!

Mines an '01 Limited and I had the exact problem, this weekend Midas replaced the left outer tie rod end, the entire job including wheel balancing and front end alignment set me back $215.xx

If the sound is happening on asphault and dirt as well, then it has to be asked if the sound is coming when turning the wheel only while moving at a decent speed, or does it make it at a stop as well. First thing that would come to my mind would be strut bearings if it happens only at a standstill. It really depends on the exact noise though. Could also be aforementioned tie rods, or also something like a spring perch if happens when moving only. |
