Default GT owners beware

I stopped by my local dealer to see what was new . What was new was a silver GT on a railroad tie with all wheels missing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!These wheels seem to be a hit on the theft scene. Spend the money and buy locks if the car comes with them buy another set. I run two locks on my car. I have had many people eyeball my wheels and have even had people comment that they cant believe they have not been stolen. I run titanium Koing Verdicts and Yokahamma tires wheels are gold in color. finally people are coming to terms with the fact that our wheels are HOT... The issue is that out Bolt pattern and offset are the same as say MK4 VW's and most other 5x100's. I've had 2 lock bolts on each wheels since i bought it.

Would it make much difference if you had one, two or all the lugs as locking? Seems to me if they have a way of getting one lock off they will have a way of getting two.

Sadly, if they want it it will go ----> Insurance.

the only way to reasonably get the locks off is to either hammer a comperable sized socket over the lug so the teeth bite into the lug, or just buy a whole LOT of wheel lock sets to try and match the pattern...

If the bad guys really want your wheels they will get them--one way or another! Sad but true, IMHO. [}]

I remember seeing a locksmith site that sold a master set of keys for the major brands of wheel locks.

the key ring had 10 keys on it which would fit a huge varity of locks.

also have heard of universal keys with movable pins that are spring loaded.

Punch

p.s. they should make a slip ring like on deadbolts maybe?

So you go and get a good set of locks (or two, or three), and the whole car is ripped off! Face it, if someone wants your stuff, they'll get it! Common sense prevails...don't park in a dark alley next to a crack house! Other than that, you roll the dice! A co-worker of mine has a Mitsubishi Spyder with an after market alarm. He parked in a parking lot next door to a Sheriff's house. Overnight, the window was smashed in (they at least didn't cut the top) and his head unit was stolen. The next day, the cops came!
