Default REAR SWAY BAR INSTALLATION HINTS

I have just installed a rear sway bar on my 04 GT Turbo. It certainly tightens up the handling. The job should have taken an hour, but took considerably longer. Anyone anticipating adding a rear sway bar may benefit from the following information.
Chrysler left all the mounting holes. The upper link mounting holes still have the threaded inserts. The holes for the bushing clamp mount bolts no longer have the threaded inserts. The bushing mounting clamps can me drawn together using two thin channel lock pliers. Alternately making each plier tighter until the clamp is closed.
Then the fun starts. You must try to put a nut behind the clamp mounting hole. Trying to position a nut behind the almost inaccessible mounting hole is a chore. The nut must be slid behind the hole through a very narrow area. It is not accessible from behind. I ended up lightly brazing a piece of rod to one flat of the nut. This enabled me to move the nut in place with the rod. Once the bolt catches the nut, snap off the brazing rod. Then I had to modify a 15mm open-end wrench to hold the nut while tightening. It had to be ground thin, with some grinding of the head to make it smaller, and then heat bending the wrench at a slight angle. I think the results were worth the effort.
