Hey all, new to the forum here. I have a 2006 Touring Convertible and about a month ago my front driver side tire started humming or vibrating cant really tell which. As i accelerate it gets louder, its worst at 40mph and then gets less noticable at higher speeds. WHen i angle the wheel to the right the noise stops completely. The car drives fine and all but i know it needs attention and wondering if anyone here has experienced that or can help me figure out what it is to i dont go paying a mechanic for work i could handle myself.
Thanks! ET |

Gonna let someone more betta'n me do this one, but I'd look at (in this order): Tires, Brakes, Hub, CV Joint, Steering.

Sounds like a bearing to me but lets face it, your not going to know for sure until you or your mechanic get under there and look around. I found this in a search....
If you hear a noise you suspect is a bad wheel bearing try this. While driving slowly turn the wheel sharply to the left. If the noise goes away your left front wheel bearing is bad. Now, turn sharply to the right. If the noise goes away you right front wheel bearing is bad. The only 100% sure fire way to know for sure is to remove the wheel bearing and inspect it.
