My wifes 02, the struts arent bouncy or anything but im sure the upper bearings are getting bad im hearing noise when you turn. ( not a cv joint ).
anyways, i found a set of mopar struts but it says it only fits 04' to 09' PT's, i thought they were all the same ? It has the mopar part no. but i cant read it in the picture. i was thinking of replacing only the upper mounts and bearings but i hate to take all that apart and not replace the struts also. the cruiser has 128k on it. does anyone know of a good source for basic struts and all parts i would need or is it ok to just replace the upper stuff ???

1. If your hearing noise when you turn, your bearing are probably shot. Do both wheels not just one.
2. At 128K both the struts and shocks (in the rear) need replacing. You'd be surprised how much better your ride will be when you do it.

yeah, i thought so, ill probably just replace everything and be done with it. Do you know of a good source for everything i would need, just OE stuff nothing fancy.
i read something about when i get the front end aligned i have to have a alignment kit also ?

IF, whoever puts your new struts in, marks everything just right, you can get away with not having it aligned. They did it for me but it's not easy and not every shop will do it. The alignment kit only consists of two bolts (one for each side) but they rake you over the coals for it. They are about $30 just for the two bolts. The bolts take the place of the upper bolts (one on each side) that hold the strut in place. The new bolts allow for the (I think) camber adjustment to go + or - 3 degrees. There was no adjustment on the OEM bolts.
I buy most of my stuff on-line so you can just check around or try your nearest auto shops and shop around for the best price. You don't need anything fancy unless you've lowered your PT and then they have special struts and shock made just for lowered cars.
