Default Alignment necessary???

Early last week I had the infamous lower control arm bushing job done. One place told me that once completed an alignment is necessary. Another place said that's not so. I have noticed a slight drifiting to the left but I haven't had time to check tire air pressures which might cause that too. So, what's the story. Is an alighnment necessary or not???

thanks

I am getting ready to do the same to mine, plus replace the ball joints. There is a topic on this over at Ptcrew.com. Some people recommend it. My Mechanic said I would need to get an alighnment after I was done.

I did my control arm bushings about a month ago and my mechanic friend who helped do them advised on an alignment. He did the alignment on it last summer after I lowered the car and there was adjustment that needed to be done after the control arm bushings were replaced. Whether this is from the bushing replacement or not, I can't say for sure but it really can't hurt to have it done.

By the way, Firestone has lifetime alignment for $180 - I got it on my son's car, and I'm taking mine there, too.
The place I went to did a good job on my son's.
