Default Retro style wheels for my '03 GT

From what I gather, GT's have different requirements for what wheels can be used due to the calipers on them. I hate the stock full chrome wheels on it, and Im trying to decide what to replace them with. Id like a 7 or even 8 inch width, at least a little lip and depth to them but not so extreme that I destroy my wheel bearings. Also, I really hate the big diameter 'DUB' look, so Id like to keep the diameter at 17", 16" if it'll work since I know 15's are prolly outta the question.

I really like the look of the mag style muscle car and hot rod wheels from the '60's and '70's so I want something along the lines of a torq thrust, magnum, or cragar SS. Anyone know of where I can find some old skool looking wheels that'll work on my cruiser? I know owners of new beetles have a newer version of the classic BRMs available. And Ive been eyeballing the bullit wheels from newer mustangs since the bolt circle should be the same and theyre a 17" higer offset but with an old school look. Any suggestions? The only way Im going to go with a more modern style wheel is a BBS type wheel with the black centers and polished lip, but I really want mags!

'00 Jeep Wrangler Sport: 2" BDS lift and swaybar disconnects, 32" BFG a/t's on Eagle 10-hole wheels. Fabtech front bumper, K&N cold air intake.

'03 PT Cruiser GT 5spd: removed muffler and airbox silencer future planned mods are K&N typhoon intake, 2" rear lowering springs, hopefully some kind of old skool mag style wheels, and possibly at least a stage 1 turbo upgrade. Oh and i GOTTA get rid of those $#@!'in flame decals!

I've been looking into vintage stuff for my base model as well. I like the VW BRM wheels.

The new Mustang wheel is a 5x4.5 I thought, not 5x100?

I have always hated the thought of wheel adapters but I am starting to ponder them for:

Finding a Cragar SS or Magnum 500 in 7" width closest to the stock FWD offset as possible and letting a 5-4.5 adapter dial in the rest of the spacing.

Yeah I have been looking old school also, all my old muscle cars had Cragar SS or Keystone classic on them. But I was hoping to keep my brand new 16 inch tires them came with the car but they don't seem to have a 16 inch rim. Goes from 15 to 17 on their web page.
