Default Tire noise front end.....

Hi everyone. The wife and I just bought a '08 PT Cruiser this weekend and noticed yesterday tire noise in the front, specifically at speeds at 40 and 55mph. The noise goes away just as you pass these speeds. The dealership just put two new tires on the front prior to purchase. The car drives straight and no tugging or shaking at the wheel. The tires are all also inflated to 36psi. Is this an issue that I will need to take to the dealership or could this be a characteristic of new tires?

The characteristic of some tires (tread pattern) cause more noise in some tires than others. The easiest way to try and find the problem is to rotate the front tires to the back and see if anything changes. 36 psi is good.

Welcome-
For your car, since the PT comes with either 15, 16, or 17" wheels/tires, look for a sticker on the driver's door edge for the proper tire pressure.
36 does sound reasonable.
I'd try a few PSI above/below and see if noise changes.

Do you have stock or aftermarket rims? cause on my PT the lug nut cover thingy came loose and was doing about the same thing you are describing.

Hey guys thanks for the replies and suggestions. I took the car back to the dealership and after a two minute test drive they determined it was bad wheel bearings in the front. They replaced them and the car rides like a champ! Thanks again for the help!
