Hello, I read a bunch of posts and it seems the wheel bearing problem is quite common, and I'm pretty sure mine has run into that one now.
I have 2006 with about 60k on it, just a normal one nothing fancy. When I'm driving down the road it makes a grinding noise and when I turn the wheel left it goes away but turning it right does nothing, so I know the problem is in the left bearing. My question is, do I need to replace the whole hub assembly or just the bearing? Also, what tools/equipment do I need to complete this job? I've done a lot of engine work on cars but never did anything with the suspension so it's new territory for me, any help would be appreciated. Thanks, -Mike |

You missed a post on just this subject in the tech section. Essentially, the bearing gets pressed onto the hub and into the hub mount after the old parts are pressed out. You need an arbor press and a bearing spreader to do it.
My gut feel is that you could save some money it you removed the hub and bearing assy and found a shop with a press. |
