Talking 16.6 Rims -- are they compatible year to year?

Hey all...I have an 07 Silver PT that I've had since June of 08.

Question...thanks to our lovely winter last year and our infamous potholes, I bent one of the tire rims...I need to get another one....I see on Craigslist someone is trying to sell a set of rims from an 06 PT Cruiser...same size (16.6) and everything...

Will it work on my car?

Thanks

Mike

Hey Mike,

Yes, I believe they're compatible if both your edition and the poster's are the same.

Anybody correct me if I'm wrong..

Welcome.
Both in your title and in your post you say 16.6 - no such animal. I think you mean 16". Yes, they'll fit fine.
The ONLY incompatibility is if you have a turbo and have 4-wheel disc brakes, then some other PT wheels don't clear the caliper.
GTs came with 17" wheels, but you could get a "turbo lite" with 4-wheel discs, and it would have the same brakes as a GT - I know, I have one. Turbo Lites came standard with 16" wheels.
If your PT is not a turbo, wheels from any other PT will fit fine.

Talking Re: 16.6 Rims -- are they compatible year to year?

Thanks...no mine is not a Turbo...its a limited Touring model...

I Kind of figured they were compatible...the guy thats fixing my car for me didn't think they would (I don't think he knows PTs that much) fit but I can tell him I've heard from two different sources that they are compatible...now to get the rims and I am all set (and can save myself some $$)

Thanks again and I will be sure to check this forum out often!!!

Angry Re: 16.6 Rims -- are they compatible year to year?

Thanks all for the responses...now new problem....

Turns out I got 15 inch rims and not 16

I can either get tires to fit the 15 inch rims or again look for the 16 inch rim...

Whats the recommended size for 15 inch rims of the tire?

I know I can get used....

Thanks!!!
