Hey guys! Thanks for all the feedback. I agree with everything you guys said and so I went ahead and ordered them today. Paid $444 for a set of 4, shipped. Pretty good deal if you ask me. I'll be taking them to a local shop so they can stretch a set of Nexen N3000 40-series tires on 'em when I get them, and then I'll be selling my stockers most likely. I've actually seen them sell for ~$100 in good shape. Pretty funny how that works-- I can almost make back what I spent on my new rims. :P I'm also excited because I'll actually be able to show off my cross-drilled/slotted rotors and my painted calipers as well! I went ahead and coated them with red, so I may wind up redoing them.. not sure how the red will compliment black rims.. but we'll see.

Anyway, thanks for the tips on the tint as well. I would really like to take it to a shop and see if they will even out the tint on my windows, or possibly go darker than the stock tinting.. we'll see. I also just ordered a painted rear spoiler and a billet horizontal grille. I'm also considering ordering a set of smoked tail lights as well. Hopefully I'll have the time to swap in my springs within the next 2 weeks or so.. I'll definitely post pictures when I have them installed!

Also found a guy on Ebay who does these:

Which I'm assuming consists of some sort of lacquer paint and a clearcoat afterwards. Looks really good with the stock tails, in my opinion, and would definitely compliment the black rims and tint..

Well I've been saving up for quite a while under the impression that I was going to swap an srt-4 turbo assembly onto my PT, but through careful consideration, and the realization that this baby is my daily driver, I decided against it.. Eventually down the road, I'll do a full build-- I don't wanna half-ass anything. I'll do a manual swap, rebuild the motor with forged internals, drop the compression, have some headwork done, swap on the turbo and see what she'll do.. but for now, I just wanna make her look nice.

Oh, hey, one more thing! Another question: I'd really like to pick up a set of locking lugnuts as I live in Tampa, annnnd.. yeah, that's pretty self-explanatory.. so, firstly: should I go with black or chrome lugnuts? I can see an argument for either one.. black, because the spokes are black, and chrome because the lip is chrome and the centercap is silver.. I'm leaning towards black, but I'm not sure-- I think it's one of those things where you have to SEE it on the car before you decide..

Oh, and if I do order them, has anyone ordered these before? If so, where'd you order them from and what size lugs did you order as well? Thanks again.

12 x 1.5

I think it's possible to have the center cap powder-coated. I would think chrome for the lug nuts so it wouldn't show much scuff marks on mounting/dismounting the wheels.

Edit: Yeah, I read not too long ago that you were planning to swap for the turbo engine. That's why I was like "WHAT?!" when I saw what you were going to do to it appearance wise. I was like damn can you send me an application from your job?? Lol! I think it'll come out pretty sweet with what you've go planned! Can't wait to see it blacked out.

Black center is the way to go. All chrome is out of style. Get the chrome lug nuts though.

Wellllll, she's dropped and the spoiler's on. Haven't had her aligned yet cause the 3 places I took it to told me it was too low-- couldn't get it up on the rack. I have my rims coming tomorrow, and hopefully heading up to have them mounted and balanced on a set of tires. Trying to decide between Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3s or Falken FK-452s.. (225-40-18 all around)

Anyway, he's some pics-- tell me what you guys think:

Thumbs up Re: Poll: Black w/ Chrome Lip or Chrome

Your sig is sooooooo yesterday

Nice Chris!! Lol, with them 18's on it'll be sick!!!

Edit: Did a quick lookup and the Falken looks to be the better choice. Got more grooves on it and other people seem to be very satisfied with them.

Haha, thanks man! Yeah, it definitely is a little out of date-- when I actually have the time to sit down and do it, I'll update it.

Anyway, as an update, the rims have arrived-- waiting to decide on which tires I should go with, and also: the billet grille doesn't quite fit right, so I'm trying to sort that out with the seller I bought it from on Ebay. Gotta snap off some pics and send them.

Will update you guys.

Well, aside from the smoked tail lights and reverse lights, she's done!

Here's some eye candy for you all:

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
