Cool ][ Axis Widetracks ][

I've been off the forums for a about a couple of weeks, been personally going through a very hard time.

I've been wanting rims ever since I got my Cruiser, and just when I decided to form my own rims from aluminum foil (Kirkland brand, don't worry), these came in the mail:

These are 18" Axis Widetracks! I have a "staggered" setup consisting of a 60mm lip up front and 90 mm lip in the back. It's a special technology (Maxis Lip) they've created to transform the lip while leaving the offsets and width the same. It's pretty much the minor change of the spokes' curves that make the illusion work.

The color is Hyperblack with a polished lip which helps match my Silver Steel Metallic color. As you can see in these pictures, different angles have a different shade. Some look like the wheels are darker, but in sunlight, they really blend in my paint!

I'll inform some of you who, just like me, was curious on how the ride differs from gaining 3" (sexual pun not intended). The ride is actually still pretty smooth, well I don't have a drop yet either. I noticed that the Cruiser follows dips and cracks in the road when driving. It is noticeably heavier and feels planted. I already got myself in the habit of avoiding potholes and taking speed bumps slowly and stuff, but overall it's smoother as I expected.

P.S. I actually have a mod that Candyman and slayerdarkcross don't have..SORRY, I had to go there

Those are some beautiful rims, I wonder if they come in 16's because I'm not willing to sacrifice my ride for looks, I want a workable balance of both.

The Widetracks are discontinued. If I recall correctly, 17s or 18s were the smallest the made.
