Default Questions about springs

I have my 05 pt/gt. Ive been looking around at lowering springs and I just dont know which way to turn. Reason being is that I see 2 inch drop springs and then 5 inch and im hearing drop springs still give you rake (which I dont want)

I have been customizing cars for a long time. My question is would it be easier to cut the springs to get the proper drop. I do not hack springs with tortches or even big grinders, I cut them with a diamond blade on a dremmel, taks longer but the spring does not heat up and the cut is completely clean.

also in cutting them should i just cut a coil out of each spring? Or do 1 in the front and 1.5 in the rear so it evens it out. I dont want it on the ground but i cannont afford to put $300 in lowering springs if it dont give me the drop i want.

cut 1 coil from the front
and 1.5 from the rears,
if its good, you saved the 300
if not, adjust in small increments,
and i have a full set of springs,
you can have for 50 shipped,
worst case

I don't recommend cutting - the springs can't sit flat without a flattened end.
Buy some lowering springs (no more than 2") and just put in the rears and it pretty well gets rid of the Butt-in-the-air look (rake).

Yes, PLEASE do a search on this forum!! A member has done the same and regretted it. A couple hundred bucks will do it right.

I agree as well, I picked up a used set of lowering springs from a fellow here and installed just the rear ones. Did a nice job of leveling it out!
