Default steering radius

Noone seems to mention steering radius issues with their pt. I have an 05. love it, but the steering radius becomes an issue when in tight spots, the newer models seem to be easier to maneuver, but not perfect either. This issue is my biggest beef with these cars, otherwise I absolutely love them all! I understand altering this is not possible, is it simply due to the body style?

Sorry you missed all the discussions about that. We've been talking (badmouthing) about it since before you thought about ever buying one. From the very first weeks of this forum being created owners have been complaining. I'm sure a search on the subject will bring up a few threads.

P.S. I don't believe (might be wrong) that the newer (06+) PT's are any better unless Chrysler changed something that I don't know about (which is possible).

Thanks I'll do a search on the older threads about it. I did road test a 2010 pt lately, just to see for myself and found it was easier to maneuver, however, not perfect, but better. One Chrysler dealership we were at after much searching felt the "'07-'10 would have slightly better steering radius due to the change in k frame and the rack is different, but they couldn't be interchanged with the earlier models" so we were told. Too bad.

The Dodge Caravan is easier to turn and maneuver than my pt hands down, however, I love my pt 100% more!!!

Must be something that you have done, because they have have the same wheelbase and length. The only difference is the height and the ground clearance. And i think the vert weighs a bit more
