Default Total Cruiser Newbie looking for tire help/info

I've had my 2002 Inca Gold Series 1 Dream Cruiser for a year. I've had tire leaks that I understand is a common problem. I got new tires in October and then drove from Seattle to NE Montana to stay with family until 4/11. The car is garaged and not driven for the winter, and now I see my new tires are getting flat. I was told that the problem is peeled sealing on the wheels. I don't want to sound too dumb, but are the wheels and the hubcaps all one piece? I can't figure that out from wheel ads. (I have my hubcap centers). Thanks for any info.

ok well the wheels are what the tires are mounted on they have the studs going throught them they are whatever size you tires are 15 inch 16 inch 17 ince ets

the hub cap is what covers the wheel IF your wheels are not nice looking wheels

i can tell you that leaving a car sit all winter will kill the battery and flatten the tires no matter what wheels you have

I have a old pickup that when it sitts over the summer even with hot weather the tired will go flat

id just keep them inflated and start the car every week or so

What you have are chromed aluminum wheels. They have center caps (or "hubcaps) over the lugnuts, but this is not part of your issue.

Because aluminum is a porous material, air seeps through it over time. I've heard of people successfully coating the inside of their rims to help prevent this, but honestly I just keep them topped off. I store my PT for the winter, and in the spring the tires are always low... Nothing to worry over though - top them off and you're good to go. It is unlikely that they would go completely flat unless you were storing it for several years...

If you have the chrome wheels, yes, they are crap and they peel and leak.

Thanks for the information. I had been topping them off until I had a blowout and got new tires; I thought this would stop the air leak but it didn't. I appreciate your explanation.
