MX-5, now that's a plan. [^]

MX-5, good plan.

Problem is, the insurance side of it may be a bit different here, I'd have to look into that closer.

My PT is a lease to own, I must keep insurance on it even if its off the road.

Don't have a garage so I'd need to pay for storage - not sure on the $'s involved.

I'm going to check into it though, thanks for the suggestion.

Comprehensive only (storage insurance) will fulfill the requirements for your lease.
Since you were planning on driving it, why not store it outside for free?
Snow will melt. Road salt is what destroys a vehicle.

Insurance costs in the NY area are much higher.

Just changed mine last week. We were supposed to get a HUGE snow here in Chicago, but it missed our part of the city, I guess it hit the east coast. Oh well, but my car's ready now...

This is the first car that I have changed wheels and tires for the winter. My 2003 GT has a set of the silver-painted Dream Cruiser 1 wheels with Michelin Arctic Alpine tires.

Now, if I could only get rid of the rattle caused by the exhaust hitting the rear endlink (not related to the wheel/tire swap)....

My first cruiser never was driven in snow and only rarely in rain. I had an 87 Dodge Omni for foul weather. Now I have a GT but unfortunately the Dodge is gone, I am looking for a replacement as driving the cruisr in the snow would be painful.

I do the swap every year. Saves on tire wear for both sets. And why do all that cleaning in the winter? Cold, cold and cold. Did I mention cold! Thats how I do it in Maryland.
