Default VW wheels

Just wanted to share my findings with everyone. I came across a set of Jetta/Golf GTi wheels and picked them up for a reasonable amount. The bolt pattern and centerbore are identical. There were a few snags though. The lugbolts that are used to hold the wheels on most German cars have a "ball seat" instead of a 60 degree flat taper seat as on our stock PT lugnuts. This means where the nut sits has a concave/round section like this ( rather than this /. I found some washers that sit betweent my lugnuts and the seat on the wheel. They worked perfect. Now I have 17x7 38mm offset wheels on the GT. They look like they belong on the car, and the wheel to body relationship is much better than stock. Best of all the Continental Extreme Contact tires I bought are a nice 225/45-17. I'll try to get some pics soon.
Just thought i'd share.

Here's the wheels I got...

What size where the stock tires from the GT. Those are 17"s right?
Do you have a pic of the stock wheels?

Back in late 2000 or early 2001 I was once asked if my car (PT) was the new VW Bug. Those wheels would have really thrown people for a loop!

Nice wheels!

Here's the skinny on the OD of the tires...

205/50-17...25.07 (stock tire)
225/45-17...24.97 (VW factory tire size)
235/45-17...25.32

I could've gone with a 235/45-17 But figured these would be easier to sell when i'm finished with them.
