Default Tired of buying tires

Just turned 150,000 miles, going on my 4th set, original set I got 30,000, next set was Goodyear, not top of the line, cant remember but I got 40,000 out of those then went with Goodyear triple thread, managed to get 80,000 out of these, but I had to spend almost 1K on them, now I have to decide if I want to spend big coin on the GY again.

Getting 30-40k out of a set of tires in a performance oriented vehicle is to be expected.

Ditto! I got around 30k off my original set of Badyears, then only 24k off my Falkens, but I spent a lot of time with them on the track. I'm running Pirelli P6's now and while they aren't the best at cornering, they ride softer and seem to be holding up better. Really like them.

I had a set of P6s on my Cobalt SS... they were bald at 30,000mi. and I rotated them at every oil change. Just got a set of P7s for the 'vert... we'll see how they hold up.

Gary, I spend about a grand on Tires for my Vette and they're High Performance and almost twice as wide as the PT. Do some shopping around.

Wow, I just noticed that!!! 1G for the tires? I paid $165 each for mine and they are 235 35 18...
Here they are for a stock GT for $138 each.
Tire Details - Discount Tire Direct

Then you can get them installed for $15 each....BTW, that's what I did

I've tried many tire shops, locally and online, and I won't buy anywhere anymore but at discount tire. I get road hazard warranty, free rotations, etc, and never pay more than $135/tire.

Michelin is always my fav tire and for good reason.

If those GY triple tread or whatever did good for you, get 'em again.

You can always try Tire Rack and get others down, or use their installers.

I *HATE* cheap tires. Just isn't worth it- Being in Chi-Town you could get steelies, and buy snows for the winter.
