Default Snow Tires

I need some help on this one, I have a GT with 17x8aftermarket wheels and I need to find either snow tires or good all season radials? Does anyone have this type of setup? I have gotten several tire dealers opinions and I would rather have it first hand. Even if I went with two on the front to get through winter. Can I use two different sizes? one size on the front and a different size on the rear? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Looking for the sizes that would fit.

War Eagle,
We live outside of Denver at about 9000 feet and my commute back and forth to Denver is pretty vertical with lots of snow and I went with the Blizzaks and have been very happy with them!!

War Eagle im running 205/50ZR17 Continental Extreme contact DWS that is the perfect tire for all season. They are very quiet and grip fantastic. I dont recommend mixing sizes front and rear and tread as well. Bite the bullet and get 4 from either the tire rack or Discount Tire theres deals out there

I bought 4 Kuhmo something or other from Discount Tire with some wheels, tires were part of Winter package, got them with the studs. Going on 8 yrs and the car is a beast in the snow/ice.

These were 17" 235/50 or something like that.

I would get steel 15" rims off a Base or Neon-

Get tall, narrow snows. This would be cheaper and better that 17"

** I don't know 15" wheels fit over GT front calipers- Someone?

Definitely get the 4 tires all around. 2 on the front can cause you lots more problems with the back sliding out on you in corners

I have Genarals artic altracs on mine its a like blizzacks acept cheaper. I had blizzacks before and the gen's I think are better. fan dam tastic in snow or on ice. and they wear like iron with out being noisy or bad ride.

Yup, tall narrow tires do work better in snow.

Lots of great info, thanks. I was looking into some steel wheels but can't find 17's which the GT has to use, due to caliper size.
