Default Knocking sound from front end

I have a 2001 Limited Edition, approx. 103,000 miles. Yesterday, I took the car out to fill her up and noticed a knocking sound coming from the front end. The sound seemed to stay in time with how fast I was going. Seems to be coming from the drivers side but cant say for certain. I know I need new front rotors, so I'm wondering if this is what it was. It was snowing too, so maybe something got into the bad rotors? Husband is going to look at it today, just wanted to get some advice. Thanks alot. Love this forum, always helps me out.

Usually the knocking sound comes from a front end suspension joint or worn bushing but sounds like that don't keep in time for how fast your going. Did anyone do any work on the brake system that maybe didn't tighten in down properly? If you know about the rotors, brake pads wold also need replacing usually. We could take guesses all day long but it comes down to someone inspecting the front end to find out where the noise is coming from.

On a larger note, have you had the timing belt and water pump replaced?
