Default Lowered pt's

Those who have lowered your pt, have you stuck with oem type front struts or went for another kind? I need two new front shocks but wanted to lower the car as well. Struggle to find tokio blues over here!

You can get by with a mild drop on stock struts. Actually, rek ran the Candy Drops on stocks all around I believe. It depends on your tolerance level, but you'll probably look to replace them not too far down the road if yours are going bad. It'll fail a lot sooner.

You might as well just replace the struts at the same time to avoid a dangerous situation.

Mine was the complete coilover kit from H&R. I have heard everyone that used the stock struts had to replace them not long after wards as is to much wear and tear on them.

I lowered mine with the Eibach Pro kit. I really like the way it looks and levels the car. When I swapped the springs I also changed my struts and shocks. I used Monroe Sensatracs all around. I like the way it rides, I dont think its bad at all. The blue struts were a bit out of my price range at the time I needed to change them.

Thanks for finding that and the ebay items. Unfortunately for me i think shipping to the uk will prove to be expensive. My pt is due for its annual mot test next month and i think it will fail on the front struts, maybe not but i reckon they need replaced anyway. I'm going to have a look around the web and see what I can find.

How about just a spring kit to just lower the rear? Just looking to level the car. Does it need a shock change and which springs work best. Any other issues (realign required, etc?)

Thanks, learning tons on this forum!!!!!
