Default CV Axle Separates

I bought this 03 GT as a project car. I've got the engine running, but I am having right CV axle problems. The previous owner put new ones in last January. The right motormount and right lower torque mount were completely shot. As a result, when I got the engine running the car would not move as the shaft had pulled out of the wheel assembly. I greased and reassembled it. I had trouble with engine timing and I ran the engine with no mounts bolted in to be sure it was OK. I put everything back together and drove it about 1o miles and all was OK. Today I backed it out of the garage, turned it sharp to left and it pulled out. the axle bad and needs replacement, or did it come most of the way loose working on the timing and then pulled out when I backed out? If I need a new axle-recommendations on where to buy one? Thanks.

Default Re: CV Axle Separates

I'm not at all familiar with the GT, if I understand correctly it as equal-length
shafts (there's a solid shaft directly behind the engine that has a bearing attached
where the old '01-'02 had crank sensor) and uses two 'Left" axles

Either he got an axle too short (Neon, turbo Dodge and many other axles are
nearly interchangeable)
has the powertrain adjusted causing a severe shaft angle, or the center mount is also broken.

You're saying the joint itself is coming apart inside the boot, or it's pulling out of the jackshaft?
