Default Tires: any problems (or upsides as well) to using 60's vs the proscribed 55's?

So the manager himself at Discount Tires said, as long as they fit, I'd actually do better with 205 60 r16's (better mpg & handling), as long as I don't mind the speedometer being about 2 mph off. Does anyone have experience and/or knowledge of the consequences of this small deviance from the proscribed size of 205 55 r16?

Thanks all . . . .
