Unhappy Uneven Brake wear.

Hellllooo! I have an '04 PT. Last night my car had a horrendous sound of grinding metal on my way home, it started out with when i was braking.. then it was doing it with everything I finally got home and had it checked out. Not to my surprise my rotors were mutilated. So much shredded metal. from brake to rotor contact. My brakes were down to METAL absolutely nothing left at all..... Heres the kick. I JUUUUUUUSTTT changed them maybe a month ago at the most.. We took the other wheel off and checked the brakes. The brake pads looked NEW ( because they were) So we checked the caliper to see if it was sticking -- nothing... What could be causing this problem? It wore down so incredibly fast, and each front wheels were on other sides of the spectrum - right side completely worn down ruined my rotor... other side in NEW condition.. Help?

First of all, you are a lovely lady. That being said, now I can sort of focus on your issue...lol...

When they were changed did they bleed the brakes at all four? If not, you can have an airbubble on one leg and cause the caliper to soften it's push against the pad. That being said, if the brake line has anything in it that could clog it, then all the pressure is going to one side.

You have a bad caliper or a hanging one. You wouldn't have air in the line unless you opened a bleed screw or remove a component from a brake line. the only other way would be if you had a leak and ran the break reservoir low on fluid and sucked in air. Hoses have been known to come apart inside and block fluid flow.

^Ditto^ What Busted-PotentialTerrorist said about the brake lines is a possibility!

QFT- SUPER common. By the time you jack up wheel to check, it'll have released pressure and seem normal.

Ensure the caliper slides on abutments, they do rust and get divots from rattling pads

Disassemble caliper, inspect bore and piston. Seal kit is only a few $$.
