Default 2002 front wheel bearing

I need to replace the driver (left) front wheel bearing as it's causing the brakes to screech on corners and may also be a cause for my vibration at 55mph.

Is it the same process as the 2005 as shown on youtube or is it simpler - is it possible to buy the complete knuckle as a unit or do we have to buy the bearings and have them pressed in/out?

Thanks!

Steve

Press in far as I know. The other way would be way more expensive. Check that your ground straps on the struts are in tack. Wheel bearing will last longer!

OK, thanks

I'll check the ground strap. While I was under the car I also found that the nut on the end of the sway bar was missing hence the clunk and also found that the bearing on the rear of the lower control arm was all ripped away so I'm replacing that at the same time!

This corner is getting expensive LOL

You are correct!

If you can DIY, (relatively) inexpensive.
Saw someone had the LCA rear bushing for $10, bearing is what? $50-60?

Same Deal- I can't paint my car- So if I take it into a body shop $80 worth of paint would turn into hundreds of $$$ (and they'd laugh at me )

It's more like $100s on paint turns to thousands.

I did this job on my '02 last summer. They are definitely pressed. The tricky thing is to determine whether the bearings are the larger or smaller size. They changed mid year. Mine were the size of an 01'.

The '01's are 33mm, and the later one's are 39mm btw. When I went to Autozone, they gave me the 39's, and they didn't fit. It's what their computer shows for an '02. Had to take them back.
