Default Road Magnet Spring Review and Before and After Pics

As I had promised awhile back here is the review of Road Magnets Drop Springs. Forgive the large delay in the review and pics. My CPU had issues and long story short delayed any updates.

I placed an order with Road Magnet Springs and within two days I received the Road Magnet Springs powder coated a beautiful blue. I went to a local shop and placed an order for shocks and struts, Tokico Blues, and scheduled an install.

Stance:
The saying a picture is worth a thousand words fits the bill on this portion of the review.

Before:

After:

The Road Magnet website states that the springs have a drop of 2.3 in the front and the 2.25 in the rear. Anyone familiar with the PT Cruiser's stance knows that there is a rake and with the springs it is maintained but in my opinion it is not as apparent.

Ride Quality

The comparison between the stock suspension and Road Magnet Springs and Tokico Shocks/Struts is almost unfair to make but is needed. The stock ride had a very apparent amount of body roll particularly at higher rates of speed when merging on to freeways and on those back road curves. The Road Magnet Springs have drastically changed the body roll issues I experienced and I have come to seek out those curves and since the install of the Road Magnet the car slices through corners like I hoped it would. The ability to take corners at higher rates of speed, umm I mean at the posted speed limit, and feel yourself slide across your seat without having a large amount of body roll is very enjoyable.

Coming from Michigan a large concern for me were potholes. When I first began driving the PT Cruiser after it was lowered I was very mindful of what roads I took and paid very close attention to the pavement. After my initial fear subsided I began experimenting with different routes that had a vast array of road quality. I have been surprised thus far with the ride quality on the roads that are treacherous and I would say that the Road Magnet Springs along with the Tokico Shocks have the edge. The roads that have good up keep the ride quality is night and day difference. The stock suspension on the well kept roads always reminded me of how my s10 used to ride bumpy and rough. The Road Magnet Springs on the well kept roads ride very smooth and the PT Cruiser feels like its glued to the pavement. This is where the epiphany of why I think the company went with the name Road Magnet Springs.

Overall
The entire experience was smooth starting from the ordering process, receiving the merchandise in a timely manner, and the most important thing for me was the customer service I received during the entire process. I would reccommend Road Magnet Springs to anyone looking at altering their suspension.
