Default Loose front wheel hub

While in the process of rotating tires, found loose left front wheel. Tire edge
moved about 1/4 inch . Bought new wheel bearing and in getting ready to install found axle nut torqued maybe 30 lbs. Torqued axle nut back to 180
lbs. No play! Reinstalled axle nut hardware and put back on road. So far operating fine.
My PT is 05 GT with 24K miles. I'm not the first owner, so don't know
if bearing has been changed before. Has anyone found factory installed nut
torqued incorrect before?
Thanks for any feed back.

Well after driving 100 miles there is no change in front wheel bearing. No new noise and no play in wheel. I think the bearing was not torqued correct or maybe a burr on the housing. ?

twenty years ago someone I knew took a new, unsold car out and pounded the liven dickens out of it.

It coulda bee left loose at factory or hub coulda bent hitting a curb anytime from off the assembly line to when you got it.

Very good catch, tho!
