Default How to get at the spare wheel

My previous car it was in the back, easy to get to. I noticed the spare wheel under the car the other week when it was on the ramps for the MOT.

So, if I broke down with a flat, how do I get at the spare? Besides, always good to check the thing is still in good nick.

I can see on the back in the boot a wheel symbol with a bolt under the cap, but I don't fancy taking things apart and not really knowing first.

Many other cars have the spare wheel under the liner in a gap in the boot itself, but the spare wheel was actually under the car.

Default off topic response

You know me to well!

Remember I have only had the PT for little over a month 1/2 now and less then a a couple thousand miles on her!
It pained me to install that shiny new Ebach sway bar with all the other mess.
But I am in the working of designing the new exhaust and thought when I pull the exhaust off I will do the toothbrush cleaning of everything under there.

You should know me by now that I am very thought processed with anything I do and plan carefully.

When in doubt, check your owner's manual. You do have a manual, don't you?

Just kidding....

Hey Nitro,

Excellent write up. Now if I could figure out how to get mine out. hehehe

I have just got to say though, honest that Y pipe under your exhaust sketch looks an awful lot like a Flux Capacitor from Back to the Future.

Sorry, had to say it.

Nitro I couldn't pass an opportunity like that. Cleaner than mine will end up, most likely. But already got my flux capacitor on the way Candyman! Hasn't everyone?

On the serious side, excellent write-up Lynn. Gonna make a link to this post in the HOW TO section because it's been asked a few times and with those pictures, it makes a great answer.
